Jim Thorpe




Jim Thorpe was one of the greatest athletes in history. He was an outstanding football player, Olympian, and baseball player. He also played lacrosse, basketball, hockey, swimming, boxing, tennis and archery. He started his college carrier at Carlisle playing football for Pop Warner. He was a halfback on the football team and became a two time All-American in 1911 and 1912. Thorpe became a member of the Olympic Track and Field team for the 1912 Olympic games. In those games he won both the pentathlon and decathlon.
